Homecoming 2008 is underway and off to a great start. As part of the week's activities, "Blast from the Past Day" found many West memories come to life, including a Past (and Present) mainstay of West High - Dr. Tony Pappas (middle)....

Here is a listing of this week's festivities:

Dress Up Days: (Judging for each day will be in the Foyer in front of the Main Office. All teachers who are interested in participating are welcome.
  Monday:        Twin Day
  Tuesday:       Blast from the Past Day
  Wednesday:  Senior Toga Day/Athletic Day
  Thursday:      Celebrity Day
  Friday:          Spirit Day

Parade: The parade will be on Friday afternoon. The route will be a little different than the past. We will begin on Easton on the NW corner of the school, to Baltimore St., South to Ridgeway Ave., and end in the Southwest Parking Lot off Ridgeway Ave.

Homecoming Royalty: The Royalty will be introduced on Tuesday, September, 23rd, during the assembly. We ask that all teachers be seated within the audience. This will be the 1st time we have assembled in the gymnasium for the presentation of Royalty.

Bonfire: The bonfire will take place on Wednesday, September, 24th at 8:00pm in the NW parking lot of the school. Those who would like to attend are more than welcome.

Homecoming Game: The Homecoming game will be played Friday, September, 26th, vs. Cedar Rapids Xavier. The Sophomore game will begin at 5:00pm, with the Varisty game to follow. The crowing of the King and Queen will be immediately after the Sophomore game. The Varsity game will be at approximatel 7:30pm, with fireworks to follw the game.

Homecoming Dance: The Homecoming Dance will take place Saturday, September, 27th from 7:30-11:30pm in the West High Commons.
