Pending Waterloo School Board formal approval, Stan Wienke, former Head Coach of the Tuscola High School Fooball Team, in Tuscola, IL is being announced as Waterloo West High School's new Fooball Coach.

Jeff Frost, Waterloo West High School Athletic Director stated "We are very excited to have Stan Wienke on board.  He is a tremendous hire for our community, district, and West High School.  His experience is unparralled.  He has taken 14 straight teams to the Illinois playoffs, including winning state and state runnerups the last two years.  We see Stan as the person to build on the very strong foundation that Coach Gee has laid and take us to the next level.  His style of football is exciting to watch, both offensively and defensively.  We will be very aggressive.  I have a college roommate who is the AD in Porta, Illinois, Stan's former conference, and he thanked me for taking Stan out of their conference!  Jeff Hill, the Porta AD was the head wrestling coach at Parkersburg under Ed Thomas and he says that Stan is a Ed Thomas clone.  He has high standards, ethics, and the ability to make football fun, yet successful.  I appreciate the time that our committee put in on this process, and I feel we came away with a true winner.  I also appreciate all six candidates that interviewed for the position.  It was a tremendously talented pool of candidates.  We look forward to putting Wahawk football back on the map."
